the mind

a bit about me

i am a 25-year old artist in ohio. all my life i’ve been making and i never thought i would live past 10. every year survived surprised me. everything i finish is a celebration of life and the process.

and since i am alive, i am quite a meliorist with my art. i put that, that belief in the world becoming better by human kindness, into every piece.

everything i make is about the transformation of self because when you yourself change everything around you also changes: nature, community, your perception of life. it is my hope these changes are for the benefit of everyone.

i create for the sake of the future.

i draw, i build, i paint, i cut, i craft, i write. it’s the human right. the care i feel for kids, the world, myself, emotions, all of that can be found in finished and unfinished projects.

i define art as anything created and admirable both by nature and humans, including humans by nature. the way we live our lives is artful. there’s an art to how we cook, how we socialize, how we love. and i love art. i do and have studied it plenty.

beyond that, i love the lives and evolutions of artists. the sociology of art and artists and the artistic impact on the larger world that is also art. i found that constantly expanding my ideas and practices of community, history, learning, whatever, are all artful practices i bring into my studies and body of work. it keeps the awe i feel undying.
